Cover Story To address the increasing demands for clean water in industry, agriculture and household due to the increase of population and improvement of living standards, Li and co-workers engineered a leaf-inspired 3D structure for interfacial solar evaporator with greatly enhanced solar vapor generation efficiency. The leaf-biomimetic structure has similar functions to the chlorophyll and stomas in a leaf for enhancing solar absorption and accelerating water vapor escape, resulting in highly efficient solar vapor generation and seawater desalination. Solar vapor generator on this basis provides a potential low-cost and highly efficient water purification technology to help mitigate the global water crisis using sustainable energy (see the article on page 1057).
